The Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum is powered by the commitment and strength of its volunteers. Are you interested in joining a great team of collections volunteers to support the work of the Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum? Volunteers play an important role in the Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum’ collections department and there are many opportunities to suit a wide range of interests and expertise.

Demonstrators and Guides
Demonstrators and Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum is a vibrant and growing community asset that is looking for people to get involved in a broad range of voluntary activities.
Whether you have just a little spare time, or a lot, feel free to call us today to see if there is a role you can enjoy. You can help contribute to the future of this regional icon.
We are seeking volunteers with many different skills. Some roles include hands on practical work, being a tour guide, restoration, painting or customer service, providing visitor information & administration. The Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum may be an active pathway to help get you back into the workplace, or the retirement job that you can have fun with part-time. It is up to you.
Special Events Volunteers
The Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum is seeking volunteers to perform their craft live on the grounds, during daytime hours, all applications and ideas welcomed.
Some may include knitting, sewing, weaving, crocheting, woodwork, blacksmithing, historical re-enactments, drawing, painting, live art, whip cracking or something else altogether.
If you have a great skill that you would like to share with us by bringing it to the Village, we want to hear from you. You could help educate our visitors into the ways of the past, and keep the traditions alive.

Collections Officers
Our Collections Officers assist in developing collections through accessioning and deaccessioning of collections items, as well as the maintenance of current collections and displays. We currently need help with auditing our collections items.
Assistant Curators
Assistant Curators help in researching, creating and setting up exhibitions within the village and museum. We particularly need individuals with strong research and computer skills to source historical information relating to displays.
Painters
Collections currently requires individuals who are skilled at painting walls and basic maintenance. If that sounds like you we would love to meet you, please get in touch
Demonstration of Linotype Print Machine
Watch as retired journalist and printer Lloyd Marshall demonstrates the use of an old Linotype machine in the printery museum at the Beenleigh Historical Village & Museum today. Now much antiquated in the modern era.
